Darussalam Introduction

Darussalam is a Multilingual International Islamic Publishing House, with Headquarters in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and branches and agents in major cities of the world. The foremost obligation of Darussalam is to publish most authentic Islamic books in the light of the Qur'an and the Sahih Ahadith in all major International languages. To impart and impel the above mentioned sacred obligation, Darussalam has been engaged from its very inception, in producing books on Islam in the Arabic, English, Urdu, Spanish, French, Hindi, Persian, Malayalam, Turkish, Indonesian, Russian, Albanian and Bangla languages. The main theme of these books is to present the fundamentals of Islam as explained by the most recognized Islamic scholars of the Muslim world.

Islam is a religion thoroughly consonant with the nature of man and it is through its teachings that man can become a true Muslim, which is the acme of humanity This statement gives rise to the question as to what is the most reliable source of the teachings of Islam. In response, what can be said without any fear of contradiction is that there are two sources of this knowledge. The Qur'an and the Sunnah. Millions of books have been written about the veracity, need and greatness of these sources and this auspicious work will Insha Allah continue till the Day of Resurrection. In the last fourteen hundred years scores of disciplines have been developed for the understanding and elucidation of the Qur'an and the Sunnah about which our exegetists, researchers and scholars have written books of high academic and research level. This treasure has the status of intellectual legacy of Islam. It is this rich treasure through which the whole humanity can be invited to success and prosperity. But for this call to righteousness - Islam - the World has now no other reliable means of guidance. 

In the books on Islamic sciences published in the past find many academic mistakes and shortcomings of production. In view of this situation a magnificent institute for the printing and publication of academic and research works was founded on the sacred land of Saudi Arabia, by the name of DARUSSALAM. DARUSSALAM is a singular institute of printing and publication of the Islamic World, which is producing Islamic books as well as literature suitable for inviting people to Islam. Established in 1986, this institute has so far established its publication centers in many countries of the world. 

Allah Almighty has granted it the distinction that a large team of eminent scholars and researchers is engaged in the preparation and supervision of the academic plans of this institute. The main aim of DARUSSALAM is to print an authentic Arabic text of the Qur'an, its translation in different languages, and publication of brief commentaries and marginal notes on it. These commentaries, translations, and marginal notes have been accorded warm reception at the international level. We are grateful to Allah Almighty for the felicity that Khadimul Haramain Al-Sharifain Malik Fahad has now established a permanent system for the publication of 'Tafsir Ahsanul Bayan' (which comprises translation and marginal notes on the Qur'an) and 'THE NOBLE QUR'AN' in millions and their distribution in the world of Islam. Similarly, in the realm of Hadith its publication have been greatly admired by scholars and specialists on the subject. DARUSSALAM has also taken up the task of publishing the accurate texts of Hadith along will full reference to the relevant authorities. Sahih Al- Bukhari has been printed from Italy and has finest level of printing. Now the plan to bring the whole Sihah Sitta in one volume has been finalized and this highly valuable project will soon reach your hands after its publication. Sihah Sitta's translation into English, French, German Spanish, Persian and Urdu - along with their fawaid (significations) - will also be published shortly. English translation of the most popular commentary on the Qur'an - Tafsir Ibn Kathir - has been completed and its translation into other modern languages is in progress. 

DARUSSALAM has also decided to compile an authentic history of Islam which will be Insha Allah published in many languages simultaneously. 

DARUSSALAM has produced, in the light of Qur'an and Hadith, best of the books on all the important subjects relating to every sphere of life. Work on the preparation of best ideological courses of study for the students of the world of Islam is also under way, as is the work on the preparation of decent children literature for their moral training. The importance of this work will be appreciated if it is realized that our new generation has been ruined by the syllabi prepared by the European and American Jews. In this situation how can one hope to hear from them the slogan "There is no god but Allah ". DARUSSALAM has already constituted a board of experts to develop a syllabus couched in Islamic thought. We bow our heads in gratitude to Allah Almighty that by His infinite grace, DARUSSALAM has now become an effective voice for invitation to Islam. 

The books published by DARUSSALAM are not only worthy of attention for high level of their subject matter but also for elegant printing which matches with the latest international standard, Maulana Abdul Malik Mujahid, the Director of DAR-US-SALAM is making every possible effort to keep pace with the best international standards in the production of the institute's publications.
